It has been a long time in coming, but finally we have a bricks and mortar shop in the heart of the Wairarapa, New Zealand! I know that Miss Maudes is down the road and has some lovely yarns, but I wanted a shop that is 100% yarn and 100% dedicated to knitters and crocheters. I wanted a shop that is filled from floor to ceiling with colourful yarns and everything that a fibre enthusiast needs to be creative. I also wanted to have a wide range of yarns at affordable prices, available to N.Z. makers. We'd love to stock more NZ-produced yarn, but in the meantime we're proud of our large range of brands, including Adriafil, Broadway, Countrywide, Crucci, DMC, Emma Ball, Fyberspates, Hoooked, Istex, KnitPro, Malabrigo, Opal, Rowan, Scheepjes, Schachenmayr, and West Yorkshire Spinners.

Greytown is also a beautiful town, in the heart of Wairarapa. It has boutique shops and cafes, and is the perfect weekend stay if you want to get away from Wellington city. By car it's only 1 hour and 10 minutes away, going via State Highway 2, and driving through the meandering, yet scenic, Remutaka Pass. You can also get to Greytown from Palmerston North (1 hour and 45minutes). To do this, just follow the signs to the Saddle Road (just out of Palmerston North), drive past the Wind Turbines on the way to Woodville, and then continue through the Wairarapa to Greytown. If you're coming from Hawkes Bay (just over 3 hours drive), follow the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail from the Bay. Greytown is a truly beautiful spot, and worth the visit!
