Opal Schafpate 15 Unter Bäumen ("Under Trees") is a durable yarn made of 75% virgin wool (superwash) and 25% polyamide in eight natural color combinations. This yarn is ideally suited for knitting warm socks with unique color patterns, but it can of course also be used for sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves and cuddly toys. 

Opal is back for the fifteenth year with the beloved Schafpate collection. The yarn from this collection is made from the wool of a rare German sheep breed, the Merino sheep. Part of the proceeds from the Schafpate 15 Unter Bäumen collection is invested in the protection of herded sheep flocks in Germany. Opal is proud that over €185,000 has been raised for this cause over the years!

Wool from the unique breed of sheep has special properties. It is very soft on the skin, does not shrink and is durable. Thanks to the superwash treatment, Opal Schafpate 15 Unter Bäumen is easy to maintain and washable up to 40°C. The wool is available in eight attractive color combinations. Each ball is enough for one pair of socks (up to size 44). Recommended needle size is 2.00-2.50mm. A ball weighs 100 grams and has a running length of 425 meters approx.
